Founded in early 2018, Haam4 Seoi2 Goeng1 comprises of more than 20 Hong Kong art students based in the United Kingdom. Derived from two Chinese idioms, Haam4 Seoi2 Goeng1 refers to “ginger dipped in sea water”. The phrase analogues our group identity as local Hong Kongers immersed in western arts education and brings discussion upon where we are in a dual-cultural environment exposed to both cultures of the east and the west.  Where are our roots, are we ever “rooted” or are we in a constant state of flux?

Carly Cheng displayed her video Fantastic Creatures and How To Hit Them during the exhibition. The artist hopes that audiences can have more interactions with the work, so torches and a skelton drawing were added. Audiences were able to move around and used those torches to figure out what's on the drawing inside the darkroom.

Carly Cheng's work was credited by the Hing Kong Arts Development Council. Her work has been described as exceptionally innovative. Besides, assessor from HKADC also complimented the whole idea is inspirational with simple but effective technique.
